Based on the webtoon of the same name, “Welcome” is a fantasy romantic comedy about a cat who transforms into a human. Previously, L confirmed that he would be starring in the drama as Hong Jo, a warm-hearted cat who helps heal his lonely owner’s emotional wounds.
Shin Ye Eun will be playing Kim Sol Ah, a puppy-like woman in her mid-twenties who loves people and tries her best to protect those around her. Kim Sol Ah is a new hire at a visual design company who dreams of becoming a webtoon artist. After she starts living with Hong Jo, she slowly begins to open her heart.
The actress shared, “It’s an honor to star in the drama ‘Welcome,’ which many people have been highly anticipating. I’m excited to take on the role of Sol Ah, who is overflowing with charms, and I want to portray her charms well. I’ll do my best to grow as an actress and to receive even more love from the viewers.”
After making her name known through the hit web drama “A-TEEN,” Shin Ye Eun starred opposite GOT7’s Jinyoung in the tvN drama “He Is Psychometric” earlier this year. She is currently the MC for KBS’s “Music Bank.”
Already, viewers are highly anticipating the romantic chemistry between L and Shin Ye Eun in the upcoming drama. “Welcome” is written by scriptwriter Joo Hwa Mi, who wrote tvN’s “Marriage, Not Dating” and “Introverted Boss.” The drama will be directed by Ji Byung Hyun, whose previous works include KBS’s “Big” and “House of Bluebird.”
“Welcome” is expected to premiere sometime in March 2020.
