“Beautiful Love Wonderful Life” Cast Says Farewell To Viewers After Drama Comes To An End

Published

on

KBS 2TV’s “Beautiful Love Wonderful Life” continued its streak of high viewership ratings up until the very end.

Following the drama’s conclusion on March 22, the actors shared some words of farewell and gratitude to the viewers.

Jo Yoon Hee, who played Kim Seol Ah, shared through her agency, “I would sincerely like to say thank you to all of those who loved ‘Beautiful Love Wonderful Life.’ I was happy to be working with my respected sunbaes (actors with more experience) as well as my amazing colleagues and hoobaes (actors with less experience). And I’d like to once again thank the staff who worked hard with us until the end.”

Kim Jae Young, who took on the role of Goo Jun Hwi, thanked viewers, cast, and crew, and said, “It was my first time in a long drama like this, so I had been worried before we had started filming. When filming began, I learned a lot on set, and the people around me helped me a lot, so I was able to safely make it to the end. The 50 episodes (hour-long episodes) felt both long and short. It was a meaningful time during which I was able to learn a lot and grow while filming.

Seol In Ah revealed a handwritten letter that reads, “Hello. This is Seol In Ah, Chung Ah of ‘Beautiful Love Wonderful Life.’ I think I’ve grown a lot in the eight months since I met Chung Ah. Chung Ah wasn’t a character that’s just [bright and cheerful like a protagonist in a romance cartoon], and she has a complicated story to her. In order to understand and empathize with her, I had to concentrate more on studying her than I would normally, and I communicated a lot with the director and writer.” She thanked her on-screen mother Kim Mi Sook, director Han Joon Seo, her on-screen love interest Kim Jae Young, and other actors and staff members for their help and support. The actress continued, “Through Chung Ah, I was able to learn what it means to truly love and respect someone, and it was exciting that I was able to go through the strange experience of feeling sad when Chung Ah was sad and feeling happy when she was.” She concluded the letter by thanking viewers for supporting her character and the drama.

Oh Min Seok shared, “Hello, this is Oh Min Seok who played Do Jin Woo in ‘Beautiful Love Wonderful Life.’ Thank you so much for loving our drama and showing affection for the character Do Jin Woo. I will return with an even better role in an even better project. Thank you.”

Lee Tae Sun, actor of the character Kang Shi Wol, expressed, “It was a bit difficult and tiring because it was my first time in such a long-running drama, but thanks to the great sunbaes, colleagues, director, and staff, I learned a lot and filmed happily. Now, I will go back from being Kang Shi Wol to actor Lee Tae Sun and greet all of you again.”

Jo Yoo Jung played Kim Yeon Ah, the youngest daughter of her family. She said, “First of all, I want to thank the viewers for watching me though I’m an unfamiliar face and a rookie actress. The director, drama staff, my on-screen mother and father Kim Mi Sook and Park Young Gyu, and other actor sunbaes gave me courage by telling me that I can do well and cheered me on. Thanks to the warm atmosphere, I was able to act and learn a lot from my senior actors. I’ve learned what kind of mindset I should have while acting. It was a very meaningful drama for me, and I was thankful about every single moment. Yeon Ah is a playful character who is bright even in difficult situations, so I thought a lot about how to avoid making her appear detestable. I thought about what I would have done if I were Yeon Ah. Because we filmed for so long, I can’t believe that we’re saying goodbye. It really feels like I’m parting with my family and going independent, so I’m sad. I’ll do my best to show an improved version of myself. I hope that everyone will be healthy and that only happy things will come your way.”

Lastly, Ryu Ui Hyun, who took the role of Moon Pa Rang, shared, “It was my first time acting in a long-running weekend drama like this, so I was lacking in many ways. But thanks to the great sunbae actors, I was able to wrap it up well. It was a meaningful experience through which I learned and grew a lot. I thank the director and the staff who worked with us until now. It was thanks to our viewers who cheered us on from beginning to end that I was able to gain the energy to act. I’ll be back with even better acting.”

Jo Jung Suk volunteered to take a pay cut on behalf of the tvN drama “Hospital Playlist.”

On May 5, a media outlet reported, “Jo Jung Suk voluntarily reduced his appearance fee of 90 million won to 100 million won (approximately $73,800 to $82,000) per episode to 70 million won (approximately $57,400) per episode. Insiders from the drama industry explained, “As the No. 1 actor for casting in dramas, Jo Jung Suk usually receives around 90 million won to 100 million won per episode. But due to his trust in producing director Shin Won Ho and writer Lee Woo Jung, he voluntarily reduced his appearance fee. This kind of actor is really rare and he’s becoming a great role model on set.”

They continued, “It’s rare to see an actor of Jo Jung Suk’s brand power voluntarily taking a pay cut. He’s a really great, loyal actor.”

After debuting in the 2004 musical “The Nutcracker,” Jo Jung Suk has appeared in many dramas including “The King 2 Hearts,” “You Are the Best,” “Oh My Ghostess,” “Two Cops,” and “Don’t Dare to Dream,” and the films “EXIT,” “Intimate Strangers,” “My Annoying Brother,” “The Face Reader,” “Architecture 101,” and “Hit-and-Run Squad.”

His wide acting spectrum from the sly Nap Deuk in “Architecture 101” to the cranky but warmhearted Go Doo Shik in “My Annoying Brother” has allowed viewers to get immersed in the stories.

The actor married singer Gummy in October 2019 and announced they’re expecting their firstborn in January.

Lee Min Ho Is Flawless In Uniform In “The King: Eternal Monarch”

Published

on

SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama “The King: Eternal Monarch” has released new behind-the-scenes photos of Lee Min Ho!

The drama tells the story of Emperor Lee Gon (Lee Min Ho) and detective Jung Tae Eul (Kim Go Eun), who live in parallel universes — one where Korea is a constitutional monarchy and another where it is a democracy — but they work together to try to save lives.

Throughout the drama, Lee Min Ho has worn multiple outfits including his black imperial attire and an equestrian uniform. However, his white naval uniform in particular has been attracting the attention of viewers.

In the recent episode, Lee Gon appeared in a naval uniform as he prepared to confront Japan after they invaded Korea’s waters. Reflecting the line in the drama, “In their most honorable moments, the imperial family wears uniforms,” Lee Gon’s strong sense of responsibility is represented by his change of attire.

Lee Min Ho’s white naval uniform is getting a hot response as people admire his ability to look charming in all of his character’s outfits. In the newly released photos, he appears charismatic and handsome no matter which outfit he wears. In his white naval uniform, he shows a sense of duty while he performs a military salute.

Lee Min Ho stole the show with both his looks and his passionate acting in the recent episode, which returned to double-digit ratings.

“The King: Eternal Monarch” airs on Fridays and Saturdays at 10 p.m. KST.

The drama will reinterpret the webtoon to make it relevant to the current year of 2020.

Park Hae Jin will be taking on the role of Han Seung Min, a star professor at the police academy who suddenly rose through the ranks of the world’s criminal psychology field with the thesis he wrote in his 20s. However, with a sudden confession of murder, he becomes confined in prison with a life sentence. Lee Min Ho Talks About Acting With The Horse Maximus + Kim Go Eun Describes Why Role In “The King: Eternal Monarch” Was New For Her

Published

on

The leads of “The King: Eternal Monarch” sat down with “E-news Exclusive” for an interview!

The new SBS fantasy romance drama tells a story about two parallel universes: one with a democracy that is similar to modern-day Korea and one that is an alternative universe in which Korea is an empire ruled by a monarch. Emperor Lee Gon (Lee Min Ho) and detective Jung Tae Eul (Kim Go Eun) work together to protect the ones they love and close the portal between the two worlds.

The drama’s stars Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun appeared on the April 22 episode of “E-news Exclusive” and talked about preparing for their roles and more.

When asked what they’d learned for their characters, Lee Min Ho said, “I worked really hard at practicing rowing and horseback riding. Also, honestly, playing an emperor isn’t something you can really prepare for.” The interviewer jokingly asked if he meant that he already had the attitude of an emperor, and Lee Min Ho laughed.

“Lately it’s okay if people just admit this kind of thing, right?” he replied, referring to how he’s adjusting to the industry after his military discharge. “It’s because I’m the very definition of an emperor.”

The show also shared footage of Lee Min Ho filming while horseback riding. He talked about his screen partner, the horse Maximus.

“Maximus is really cute,” he said. “His nose gets red when it’s cold out. Also, he enjoys the candy that I like. It’s lemon-flavored. When filming was over, we’d each have a piece of the candy.”

A clip was also shared of Lee Min Ho appearing concerned as he watched Maximus seeming a bit restless. He said to the staff, “When we’re done filming, please let Maximum go free for a bit. He’s getting stressed.”

Lee Min Ho was later shown staring into the horse’s eyes and saying, “You have to remember me.” While filming another scene, the horse was at a distance from Lee Min Ho but then came right up behind him, which turned the scene into a blooper but made the actor smile.

Kim Go Eun was asked about taking on a detective role for the first time, and she replied, “It was really great to be able to put handcuffs on people.” Her response surprised Lee Min Ho, and the pair laughed.

She explained, “Usually I play people who are being chased, but now I put handcuffs on them and coolly take them away.”

Kim Go Eun went on to say that she’s been in action films before and she was feeling confident about this role too. However, she found it more difficult than expected to do things like reach the height of the kicks that she’d aimed for and achieve the strength needed, so she went to a taekwondo studio near her home and practiced hard.

The actors were also asked what their reactions were when they’d heard that each other had been cast for the show.

“I was very happy because she’s the actress that I most wanted to work with out of our peers,” he said.

Kim Go Eun said, “As soon as we first met, I told him, ‘I was a member of the Kim Tan line,’” referring to Lee Min Ho’s character in “Heirs.” She added, “I think he’s really the best” and playfully gave him a thumbs up.

The interviewer went on to ask the two stars what job they’d like to do in a parallel universe. Kim Go Eun said a doctor and explained, “I thought that I wanted to be a doctor if my skills were good enough.”

Lee Min Ho said, “I’d be a ballad singer,” which made everyone laugh. Kim Go Eun said, “He has a very pretty voice.”

The interview said that he could achieve this dream in this universe too, and Lee Min Ho said, “I think that would be difficult to do in this life.”
